More and more mobile operators are now reducing 3G data tariff to lure customers onto their network. It started with Reliance’s 123rs. pack for 1GB 3G data, but the main demerit of this pack is its limitation to mobile phone usage. If the said pack is used in data card, the data benefit stands chance of forfeit. Unlike this, MTNL Mumbai has rolled out two new 3G data packs for 3g mobile and dongle users – of 299 and 1250 rupees denominations. The former is monthly pack while the latter is yearly pack. 
With 299rs. pack, user will get 2GB of 3G data benefit with validity of 1 month. This pack is beneficial for both mobile and datacard users. Earlier, for getting 2.2GB 3G data, user had to pay Rs.450, but with the new pack, the price is reduced substantially.
With 1250rs. pack, user will get 900mb 3G data per month for a period of 12 months. This pack is beneficial especially to mobile users as this one-time recharge will provide users with regular 3G data benefit for a year. This yearly pack is really economical as it doesn’t give you all the data benefits at a time, the 3G data is credited on monthly basis which gives user more control on his usage. There is not such plan for Delhi mtnl(dolphin) users. In Delhi, For Rs.1199, user gets 6GB of data at a time with validity of only 180 days.
