Karbonn A2+ Specification, Price – launched at Rs.4690

The competition among domestic mobile companies in India have been fierce than ever. Karbonn, one of the closest competitor of Micromax, has launched yet another dual sim android smartphone below Rs.5,000 INR price range, Karbonn A2+. This cheap android phone competes more with its own brother Karbonn A4, rather than competing with handsets of other brands. If you take a look at the specifications of Karbonn A4 and Karbonn A2+, both these smartphones sound similar in terms of their specs. In fact, Karbonn A2+ seems better than Karbonn A4 because it is priced Rs.300 lesser than A4, which was priced at Rs.4990. Another advantage in A2+ is that it comes with ICS whereas A4 comes with GingerBread, and has a bigger battery. What’s not improved in either scenario that like A4, Karbonn A2+ doesn’t support 3G network connectivity.karbonn-a2+

Karbonn A2+ has 1GHz single core processor, 256mb RAM, 4-inch display, resolution of 800*480 pixels, WiFi, 3megapixel primary camera and vga secondary camera. It has battery of 1750mAh. Full specifications below:

  • 1GHz processor, 256mb RAM
  • 4inch display with wvga screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
  • WiFi, WiFi HotSpot
  • 3mp rear camera – Bumping megapixels will not produce better pictures. Users need a camera that can capture very good picture even if it is of lesser megapixels.
  • VGA front camera (0.3mp)
  • 1750mAh battery
  • 202mb internal memory
  • FM Radio
  • Dual SIM
  • GPRS/EDGE
  • NO 3G – This is disappointing.
  • Android 4 – Ice Cream Sandwich OS
  • G-sensor, Proximity Sensor

Karbonn A2+ seems to be a better option in comparison to Karbonn A4 which sells at similar price range. Of late, Micromax launched Micromax Bolt A51 which is inferior in terms of specs, but has 3G connectivity. There is one excuse for not providing 3G in A2+, that is, 3G data packs are costly in India and if consumers can afford 3G, they can buy better handsets. This might be the strategic thinking of Karbonn for not enabling their below 5k price handsets with 3G feature. If you don’t want 3G feature on your android smartphone, Karbonn A2+ seems to considerable option. Karbonn A2+ is available at at price of Rs.4690 on online shopping site- infibeamĀ  and will soon be available at other shopping destination online as well as in retail stores.
