Sony has not just launched Xperia L phone, but also Sony Xperia SP. While Xperia L belongs to mid-range category, Xperia SP comes from mid-high phone segment category, or say one of the best mid-range phone. Let’s start with good points of Sony Xperia SP. With screen size of 4.6 inch and HD display resolution i.e. 1280*768 pixels, this Sony mobile sports the same touted Mobile Bravia Engine 2-powered display. It also has 8mp rear camera and vga front camera, but the primary camera here is capable of shooting Full HD 1080p videos, unlike Xperia L which can record 720p videos only. On the inside, it has Snapdragon qualcomm S4 MSM8960Pro chipset which packs 1.7GHz clocked dual-core CPU and the powerful Adreno 320 GPU. With this performance-driven chipset, we’re certain that this phone will fly high for mid-category phones, and to add, it also has 1GB of RAM to sufficient multi-tasking demands. Sony has provided a LED notification strip at the bottom which acts as notification light and moreover, it can be personalized to provide visual feedback i.e. it could illuminate in different colors for calls from particular contacts. It has 8GB internal storage and it has memory-card slot as well for adding micro-sd cards to increase storage capacity of upto 32GB. Talking about connectivity options, it has bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, 3G as well as LTE, but 4G LTE variant will be available in select regions only. Moreover, it has NFC also for quick one-touch connection to compatible accessories of NFC devices. It also supports MHL for tv-out functionality so that you can connect Xperia SP to larger display. With 2350mAh battery inside and Sony’s inbuilt ‘stamina mode’ software tweaks, Xperia SP promises longer battery life, which is vital for phones to succeed these days.

Sony XPeria SP Price, Release Date
Excited with the given specs and features of this mobile? Well, Sony has not revealed price of this phone, but according to few sources, Sony Xperia SP price will be set at €419 (about $545 USD) in Germany, whereas in Netherlands, the price will be little cheaper at €399 (about $516). Based on this, expect similar pricing in other countries in Europe. Sony Xperia SP price in India will be about Rs.30,000 ( based on currency conversion of prices reported in other countries). The price seems to be much higher in India as per currency conversion, but we expect the price to be somewhat around Rs.25,000 as the phone will be launched in India without LTE 4G feature. Moreover, price tag of Rs.25,000 justifies the phone. Anything higher than this amount may result in poor sales because other better alternatives are available in market at slightly higher prices.
Sony Xperia SP release date is scheduled for q2, 2013 i.e. from mid-April, varying as per regions and markets. This phone will be available in black, white and red colors, but if you ask me, I do like the red color of Xperia SP.
