Valentine surprise from Samsung India! They’ve reduced the price of Galaxy S duos and Galaxy S3 by significant amount. The price of Samsung Galaxy S duos has been reduced to Rs. 12,900 INR and is available at the reduced price from online stores like Flipkart as well as from retail local stores. The current flagship handset i.e. Samsung Galaxy S3 has also witnessed reduction in its price by considerable margin over period of time. Galaxy S3 price is now reduced to Rs.28,900. This is all-time low and the best price as well as the best time if you’ve longed to get this high-end smartphone in your hand.
Galaxy S Duos was initially released in Indian market at price of about Rs.16,900. The reduction of Rs.4,000 in 4 months time is really huge. Likewise, Galaxy S3 was initially launched for Rs.40000-43,000 and is now selling at Rs. 28,900. This is also gigantic drop in price. Keeping these drops in mind, we expect the price of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos to drop soon after few months because this phone is also launched at high price of Rs.21,5000. From these price drop, it seems that Samsung is taking cues from the current Indian market conditions and now understands the potential of domestic phone companies and how they’re flooding market with cheap high-end phones. So, this seems to be smart move from Samsung strategically to maintain its dominance in smartphone industry. These price drop also suggest newer devices launches approaching soon. We’ve already heard reports of possible Galaxy S4 reveal in March. Another major point to note is that these prices drop adds to early-buyers’ remorse. So, those phone buyers who buy phones early when the phone is released or launched in markets, won’t appreciate such drastic price reduction. Such remorse may add to discontent and dissatisfaction. This may destroy resale value of these phones by greater degree. These are few aspects where Apple’s iPhone clearly wins. The resale value of Apple’s iPhone is, by far, very good. It’s not that we do not welcome such price reduction, but we do appeal to these companies to launch phones at a more reasonable price so that early adopters do not feel remorse later.
